Key Responsibilities

To oversee and maintain the campground facilities at Naramata Centre, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all campers and visitors.
This role operates under the supervision of the General Manager.  The Campground Operator is the onsite campground representative for Naramata Centre and responsible for ensuring compliance with campground rules and safety protocols.  

Term: April 14 - October 17 | 40 hours

Primary Duties

  • Guest Experience:  Warmly greet all guests upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and hospitable experience.  Facilitate late check-ins outside regular hours, ensuring a smooth arrival process for guests.  Act as a knowledgeable resource for guests, providing information and assistance.

  • Cleaning & Facility Maintenance:  Maintain campground facilities in accordance with Naramata Centres standards to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment. Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping tasks in accordance with Naramata Centre Standards.   Manage waste disposal and recycling.

  • Groundskeeping:  Maintain campground sites and adjacent areas to ensure campsites are guest ready and to enhance campground aesthetics and safety.

  • Safety:  Implement and where necessary, enforce safety protocols and campground rules including quiet hours.

  • Lost and Found:  Oversee lost and found procedures facility timely return of lost items to owners.  

  • Special Events:  Assist in coordinating special events hosted at the campground.

  • Continuous Improvement:  Proactively identify and recommend initiatives to improve operational efficiency and the camper experience.  

Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Basic knowledge of campground maintenance and safety practices.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education or Experience Requirements

  • Previous experience in campground operations or a related field is preferred.

  • Current WHMIS and First Aid Training preferred.

  • Knowledge of campground management best practices is an asset.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector search.

  • Physically capable of performing tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • Willingness to live on site when on duty and work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and statutory holidays.

  • Must have their own RV or Trailer. A 30 amp site will be provided.
